You might remember when HBO advertised the fictional TruBlood drink, well now they’ve made the real thing!

HBO is launching a new TruBlood Beverage this weekend, starting at 6pm (PST) on Saturday, 7/25. It’s a Blood Orange flavored carbonated beverage, “All Flavor. No Bite.” The HBO Store will be the exclusive provider:

HBO will be broadcasting two True Blood related specials on September 6th, 2008. The first is titled “TRUE BLOOD-LINES: VAMPIRE LEGENDS” and will be broadcast at 7:00PM ET. It has a running time of 25 minutes. The second one is “TRUE BLOOD-LINES: A NEW TYPE” and it will air at 7:25PM ET with a running time of 23 minutes.

These featurettes will be repeated on September 7th at 8:00PM and 8:25PM ET, respectively.

Also, the previous specials “TRUE BLOOD: ALAN BALL POV” and “MAKING TRUE BLOOD” will be repeated several times over the coming week.

These are currently available via HBO On Demand.

I was watching the “John Adams” marathon on HBO this evening and between episodes they were airing what appeared to be a beer commercial, oddly enough. There were three guys sitting around a campfire, enjoying their beer, and out jumps a vampire asking for something to drink. A friend it turns out, they hand him a Tru Blood beverage.



It then goes on to advertise the http://trubeverage.com site.
